Let us introduce ourselves…
Voilà is here to make your life a little more interesting, and a lot easier! We serve lunch and dinner as well as brunch on week-ends. Although the atmosphere is very much like a European sidewalk café, we prefer to think of ourselves as “very Decatur!”
In addition to being a great spot for business lunches, romantic dinners or simply a place to relax with a glass of wine or a cappuccino, we offer the convenience of easy take-out. Call ahead and have dinner prepared to order or stop by and pick up something from our market.
We look forward to meeting you here.
Please introduce yourself so that we can welcome you to Voilà!

Voila Café Brings European Ambiance to Decatur
Imagine sitting in a European sidewalk café, leisurely sipping a glass of wine while chatting with a few friends and whiling away a lazy afternoon. Or, consider heading out of the office with your laptop to get work done while you enjoy a cup of organic coffee and watch the world going by on the street beyond.
Transporting yourself to Europe may be easier than you think, thanks to Voila Market & Café. Since their grand opening in February of 2006, Voila has been whisking guests away on a leisurely trip to a European café without ever leaving Decatur.
Voila is located at 410-B West Ponce de Leon Avenue in Decatur, and the cozy restaurant has a distinct bistro flair. Outdoor seating lets you soak up the sunshine, and once inside concrete floors and brick walls help add to the sidewalk café atmosphere. Glass walls let natural light in, and jazz plays softly in the background.
Of course, Voila is a lot more than just atmosphere. The café offers lunch and dinner as well as brunch on the weekends. The menu is best described as French bistro with Creole flair. Menu offerings range from standard fare such as grilled Filet au Poivre to New Orleans gumbo and jambalaya.
Owner Donna Ruppert, who says that owning a restaurant is a family tradition for her, has her own favorite dishes on the menu.
“My favorite things to eat here are definitely the tuna with caper vinaigrette, because I really like that light, crisp taste” she says. “The Artichoke and Sun Dried Tomato Chicken, the Chicken Francaise and our signature soups are also favorites.”
Even with three full menus that range from chipotle shrimp and grits to curry tuna salad sandwiches to roast pork in an apples and wine sauce, Voila has more to offer than just a leisurely dining experience.
“We prepare several entrees a day that people can pick up,” says Ruppert. “We have frozen entrees, too, that people can keep in the freezer for an emergency. We can have dinner ready family-style for six or eight people. That was one of our focuses when we started, for people to have good, quality family-style takeout that makes it easy for people to have a good dinner. We’re trying to make life easier.”
The name Voila was chosen to reflect the café’s variety of offerings. “I wanted a name that simply said ‘There it is!’ Lunch, dinner, take-out, catering- all sorts of things in one place,” explains Ruppert.
To make take-out even easier, Ruppert says that many customers call ahead to place their orders. When they arrive, they just drive around to the side door and their food is brought out to them.
Ruppert gives one simple reason for such attentive service. “This is their restaurant, not ours.
“We’ve tried to build our menu to what the people of Decatur want. We have a lot of health-conscious people here, so we try to keep them in mind, and some people like comfort food so we’ve got a lot of really rich dishes. We mainly try to focus on what the customer wants.”
The food, atmosphere and attitude all add up to a unique experience that applies to business lunches, casual afternoons or romantic dinners. “We are a very friendly neighborhood kind of restaurant; unpretentious,” says Ruppert. “We want to try to get to know the customers, to try to accommodate them. We wanted to have that small European café kind of atmosphere where people feel comfortable coming and spending an afternoon, just sitting and talking and having a glass of wine. They don’t have to be pushed into dinner. It’s that ease we wanted.”
